A little "funny" to share!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas...I know that I did.

We were all anticipating my granddaughter Taylor's, (who is not quite 3) level of excitement for this Christmas since she is just now really getting to the age of opening hew own presents. Can I just say "total let down"...this girl who had more gifts to open than even imaginable could have cared less! Now, you could say that, that might have been the problem...but my daughter said she was that way from the first gift she opened at home before coming to Nana and Papa's house. Having said that...my grandson, Thomas (who is 5) certainly made up for her lack of enthusiasm. That kid "oooed and awwwed" over every gift! Maybe next year!

My real "funny" is what my daughter, Kelli and I saw at Target the day after Christmas. Now, roadrunners are common in Arizona, but you really do not see them all that often. I have seen them running across a fairway on the golf course, or out in large open areas. They are pretty skiddish and don't come to close too humans. This is what we saw when we were getting back into our car to leave:

It was a little hard to recognize at first because typically, their tales are pointing straight up. This one was totally chillin' and perfectly content sitting on this shopping cart. Kelli was able to get quite close to take this picture. It certainly made me chuckle!

Anyhoo...no cookies for a few days, but I will be back tomorrow to show you how I turned these simple dinner rolls:

into a yummy (and super simple) Christmas morning treat! Till then...happy baking!

There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies!

  1. Oh cool! Love the Roadrunner picture :) My grandparents live in AZ, and I would always see them off in the distance when visiting, or even a family pretty close but RUNNING so quickly there was no way that I could get a photo.

My son, who is 16, was a total let down this year too. I know you don't expect a kid that age to get to excited, but COME ON! Show SOME emotion please! LOL Didn't help that the one gift that I was so excited to give wasn't wanted and is being returned. SIGH Lesson learned, never buy him any clothing, even if it is by his favorite company, in his favorite color, and in a style that he has worn for the past year. He won't like it (eyeroll) lol

Hope that 2011 is everything you want and more! Can't wait to see the goodies that you made for Christmas morning :)

  2. Oh, that picture makes me miss Arizona now! My little boy loved when he was quick enough to spot one of those little birds running across the road!

So "sweet" of you to stop by...it makes my day when you take the time to tell me that you did!
