"Hangin' ten", hiding furniture and other random stuff!

I will start with cookies...this was Andrea's order for 1 dozen surf boards. I love working with bright summer colors, and these cookies were no exception! As much fun as they were to do, it really made me wish I was making some palm trees and flamingos to go with!  Thanks so much, Andrea!

Yesterday, Melissa and I made a trip to the Goodwill and Savers...the Goodwill had a cute little tabletop ironing board that will work perfectly in my laundry room if I am working on a sewing project (that is where I cut things out, if you were wondering).  I mean who doesn't need THREE ironing boards?!  Did I mention that it can hang on the wall when it is not being used...ummmm, cuteness!  Not "picture worthy" yet...but it will be when I put a cute cover on it!

Then we went to Savers and this is where the "hiding furniture" part comes in.  If I was being honest however, it is not usually "out of sight" hidden...if you look closely enough, you will see it.  It may be a tabletop that is missing it's legs or a chair that has not seat...but rest assured, the parts to complete it are somewhere around the house.  Yesterday I needed to find a place for this:

I am getting to the point of feeling a little guilty at all the little "projects" that I drag home.  In my own defense however, I can't work on them right now because it is just to damn darn hot here, but I also can't pass up a smokin' deal!  First and foremost, it is really hard to find pieces like this that are actual wood and not laminate.  It was nice and sturdy and although the top has a few "flaws"...

...it's nothing that can't be sanded out.  So if you happen to be in my guest room and go in the closet and you see a table top that has no legs...and you open a drawer in the dresser and find some legs...just ignore them...she will be back together before you know it!

And the best part:

Loves me a good deal!  One more pic of this cute coffee table:

And last but not least...my fun Kirkland find.  If you don't have a Kirkland's in your area, you are missing out!  It is usually a "hit and miss" thing for me, but the other day, this store was packed with goodies!  I could not pass up this awesome rug for my craft room (it replaces the not so awesome one that was in there!).  It is very good size, 4' 9" x 6' 9" and even though most decorators would tell you I have "magic carpet" syndrome in my craft room, I don't care because this rug matches perfectly and it makes me smile when I walk in the room.  Best of all...it was only $40!

Well, that's it for me folks...I got nuttin' else to show ya right now.  Next week, Lucy's cookies...till then, Happy Baking!

There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies!

  1. OH MY GOSH!!! I adore that rug - $40 BUCKS?!! Holy shiz!! That's an amazing find, for sure. Don't think I've ever been in Savers, but you need to take me there . . . NOW! LOL The cookies look delish . . . and if I found a table top in the closet and legs in the drawers in your guest room, I'd probably pee my pants laughing!! I've got crap hidden in my drawers, too - we are sickos, right?! LOL
