Wow, where does the time go? It's been almost a week since I blogged...guess I didn't have anything too exciting to share. But not to worry, I got a lot on my plate this week. First of all, I have three different cookie orders, so that will keep me somewhat busy. I also have a plethora of "ABC" projects (Anything But Cookies, for those of you that are new around here)...a few that I already have completed so be sure and stop by for the reveals!
Last Friday, Melissa, Kelli and I went to the cutest little boutique nearby called Designer Blvd. It was my first time there and oh my, what cool things they had! First thing that you see when you walk in the door is a huge Halloween display...well, if you know me at all, you know that I love Halloween decorations, and they had some FUN stuff. I fell in love with one particular item, but it was $70...nope, not gonna happen! I figure I can make it for less than $10. (Did I mention this place was kind of pricey?!) I wish I would have snapped a picture with my phone, but seriously, it looked THAT easy that I don't even need it! That project is on my "to-do" list!
So, since I feel like have to show you something today, I will share these cute little "mini" cookies that I made a while back. Are you by any chance an "Angry Birds" fan? If you are scratching your head right now, I will assume you don't have an Iphone or an Ipad, otherwise, you would probably be addicted like this family is.
Anyhoo, Melissa's good friend Jenn was kind enough to make me these cute little Angry Bird images...well, she did not physically make the images, but she collected them from the Internet and organized them for me on one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. I printed them out on edible sheets, using edible ink. I then used a little punch to cut them out. Made some easy little round cookies and white icing...and the image and VOILA! This what you get:
Put them in a cute little inexpensive container and you get this:
Add a bow and you get...well, I didn't do that because I wasn't giving them away, but you get the idea!
Thanks Jenn, for making these...so cute!
I'm off to start cutting out cookies...till next time "Happy Baking"!
There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies!
LOVE Designer BLvd as well. But, you are right...sort of pricey. I have found that many of the items sold there can also be found at gasp, Hobby Lobby for way less.:)
ReplyDeleteThose turned out so cool! I'm so glad that it worked! ~ Jenn
ReplyDeleteWOW am I feeling left out of the loop... never heard of Angry Birds but they sure are cute! What a cool idea with the edible sheets.
