Especially one done in yellow...BUT before we get to the "how-to's"...let's take a walk down memory lane and see what this wall looked like when Kelli first bought the house! Remember this:
Oh yes, the lovely paneling that not only had deers on it, but ducks as well. Charming!
Anyhoo, Kelli knew that she wanted a Chevron stripe on this wall, so every time I see a tutorial for one, I "pin it". Thankfully, my daughters do not take after me when it comes to math...back in my day, you only had to take it one year and I literally passed with a D-. So...needless to say, however we did the wall, I was NOT going to be the one to do the figuring!
As I am sure you know, there are a bunch Chevron stripe tutorials on the www, but seriously, none are as simple as this one that I found on....wait for it...Pinterest! Sarah (yes, I feel like we are close friends now) made it look so easy, I think I could have even figured it out, okay, maybe not, but check it out for yourself at her blog, The Yellow Cape Cod.
We changed a few numbers because Kelli wanted more stripes and from start to finish, I think it only took about 2 1/2 hours to do the entire wall! This was our supply list"
Tape Measure
Blue Painters Tape
Level (ours had a 24 inch ruler on it)
Washable Markers (she used chalk, but I only had white chalk)
Paint
and these:
Oh wait...I guess you don't have to have those, but they certainly don't hurt AND they become a main staple in my house after September 1st...clear through Halloween!
Anyhoo, I did not take a lot of pictures during the process, but here are a few using my Iphone!
How do you like me now?
Yes, we can now address the elephant in the room...do you remember the Harvest Gold appliances that I told you that this house still had...this is the last one that still resides (well, except the matching stove that is sitting in the carport)! No worries, we bought her all new, if and when this project ever gets done! One more peek:
Whatcha' think?
Just a reminder...just 2 more days to get in the giveaway! Deets are here!
Till then...
There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies!
So cute - love it!!! Kell - I'm giving you a move-in deadline of October 1st. Or else....
