Since the first time I started making...

...my grandkid's Halloween costumes, I actually got lucky this year and only had to make one!  Before we get to this year's costume, let's take a stroll down Halloween Memory Lane, shall we?

First year was Dorothy and the Scarecrow:

Then there was the Wench and the Pirate:

Last year it was the Witch and the Count:

As much as it is killing Melissa, she has somewhat relinquished  the picking of the costumes this year...this is a major milestone for her.  Thomas has chosen to be a soldier (which was store bought)  and with a little persuasion, Taylor decided to be Little Bo Peep.

So, although I only had to make one costume this year, it was probably my most challenging to date.

I am NOT a seamstress by any stretch of the imagination.  Yes, I can sew enough to get by...but when you start talking about putting in sleeves and zippers, I get slightly intimidated...this was no exception!  Pictures can be deceiving...I have to say, it appears pretty good, but if a true seamstress looked at it, not so much.  I kept telling myself that it only had to make it through one day!

Oh...and in case you are wondering...Tatum will be a sheep.  Because we could not find the correct size pattern in stock, Melissa opted to purchase that one as well.

Stay tuned for "dressed in costume" pics later this week!

Till then...happy sewing!

There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies! Photobucket
