Since the Halloween pics were a collective project (meaning, I did not really get one good picture with my camera and I had to wait for Melissa to edit her's) it has taken me longer than expected to get these posted!
First...my Little Bo Peep:
And...her little lost sheep:
No worries...she found her:
And of course we can't forget their good friend, GI Thomas:
I am a little biased, but I think they are all pretty dang cute!
Since I was behind in posting Halloween pictures, I obviously did not get anything else that I promised posted either...leaving me lots to more to share!
Now, I am not going to lie...I think that I got a little over excited because it was solid wood...which as we all know is sometimes rare. Anyhoo, we were not exactly sure what it was...a very small/short table or a footstool, but I am pretty sure it was the latter. It had no cushion so I am sure you can understand our confusion.
It first got painted black...you can never lose with black, right? I also purchased some fabric to make a cushion for it...I don't know what I was thinking...it was definitely "fugly" fabric, therefore, I am not even going to show you! So there it sat in my garage with a few other unfinished projects!
My hubby was gone hunting the week before last and I was bound and determined to finish those odd projects so he would quit complaining about them taking up his precious space in the garage! And I have to admit...I could not justify getting more goodies to refinish if I did not finish the ones that I already had.
Still with me?
Now enters the Annie Sloan Paris Grey paint that I already had on had and this Chevron piece of fabric that I purchased from Fabric.com:
Put them together and you get this:
A little fun and funky, don't cha think?!
It took me longer to put those buttons on than the time it took to do the entire rest of the project. I have since "pinned" a tutorial from Pinterest that will make this project much simpler/faster next time. In my own defense, I have done tufting many times before, but I already had this piece of foam rubber on hand and it was extra thick...made pulling those buttons through a
In case you are wondering...the colors "just happen" to match Kelli's living room perfectly, so yes, it did end up at her house!
Since I freed up all that space in the garage (heehee), I could justify buying this bedroom set from an estate sale that I also went to while the hubby was out of town! It was a smokin' deal that I could not pass up...Melissa asked me if Dad was going to divorce me over it...I said it was worth the risk!!
Here are all the pieces that I got:
Headboard/Footboard (which was a full that I have already sold, as is):
The chest of drawers (sorry about the grainy pictures):
The dresser
The mirror
And one nightstand
All solid wood (white ash, which I honestly know nothing about)! I was positively giddy...especially when I saw the price tag! $285 for all of it! Not bad, huh?! I have already sold the bed because I already have queens for both of my guestrooms and had no other use for it. I sold it for $80, so now I am only into it for about $200. I am seriously thinking of painting it and keeping it for my master bedroom. What do you think...keep it or sell it and double my money?!
That was quite a bit to share in one day, right?! Be sure to check back...I have another fun decor project from Kelli's house and a few other things up my sleeve.
Till then...

Love that bargain! And the footstool is really cute. (As are the children, but that goes without saying.)
ReplyDeletelove the yellow chevron!!! so fun!
ReplyDeleteI came here because I wanted to see how you redid the footstool, as I'm looking for one... But what really stole my heart was your darling sheep!
ReplyDeleteThe nightstand is from Davis Cabinet Furniture. It is a 1955-1956 cabinet and is being sold on Charish for $750.00. I have one too and was going to paint it but thought maybe not.
