Here it is a week and a half before Halloween and I am still farting around with last minute decorations. Not because I procrastinated, but because it has taken me months to find just the right size containers for this one. You see, you need two vases...one smaller one that fits inside the larger one...it has to be shorter AND you only want about 1-1 1/2 inch between the two! Now you see why this has taken me so long to do?!
My cyber friend, Melanie, was the first to turn me onto this project last Easter...she teased me this version. Hmmm, looks easy enough! Well, by the time I saw this one, it was too close to Easter so I decided then that I would be on the lookout for my containers for next Easter.
Now fast forward to a month or two ago and my obsession with Pinterest. That is when I saw a Halloween version and because you know that I LOVES me some Halloween...I began to amp up the search. Just when I was ready to bag the idea for yet another holiday, it happened. Melissa and I were at the Salvation Army, and low and behold, guess what I found...yep, two perfect containers. And the best part? It was half off "bric-a-brac" Day and they were only $2.50, total. Score! How funny that my one little bag of "Monster Mash" Jelly Bellys were more than that...go figure!
This is the one that I saw on Pinterest:
And this is my version: Disclaimer: I positively SUCK at floral arrangements...so much so, that this does not even really qualify as "arranging" at all. It was called, buying the flowers, cutting off the stems to make them the right height and putting them in water. Anyhoo, this is mine, which is sort of a combination of the two above.
So whatch'a think? Kinda cute, huh? Can I just say that the candy part took literally 5 minutes to put together and well, you can tell how much time I spent on the flowers, lol! After all is said and done, I am quite happy with the outcome!
I am happy to say that I am almost done with Thomas and Taylor's Halloween costumes as well as multiple other projects I got going on around here. Stay tuned....

ReplyDeleteSo I am assuming it is a vase in a vase for the flowers? Too cute.
ReplyDeleteI like your version best
ReplyDeleteYes...can someone confirm if there is a vase inside the vase for the water and the flowers??
ReplyDeleteThere is a vase inside a vase, but I wonder about the moisture still ruining the candy.
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, I am a floral designer..professionally and I love how you did this.
