A quick share for you today! This last Saturday my Grandson, Thomas had his first "kids" birthday party...he will be turning 5 tomorrow...where does the time go? Anyhoo, they decided to do a pirate theme (not sure if it was HIS idea or he had a little nudging from my daughter), but I must say she did a great job on the decorations! The cookies were of course, my contribution. I actually did a platter of swords and pirate hats, but forgot to get a picture of those, big surprise. I did remember as I was walking out the door to take a quick pic of the party favors, however. I was very pleased at how they turned out...I was a paper crafter long before I ever started making cookies and it was nice to know that although I rarely do it anymore, that I have not completely lost my mojo! What do you think of my pirate ships?
I made the little toppers using scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby. Using Word, I wrote out the message, (if you "click" the picture, you can probably read it better) added some clipart and printed it out. I then "tore" the edges and inked them with brown ink to look like it had been burned. Put them on black cardstock and VOILA! I have to say, they were a pretty big hit at the party!
Thanks for stopping by...happy baking!
There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies!
