This is my first batch of Valentine's Day for the year...well, let's be honest...this is my first real time at doing them at all. I actually started this cookie "adventure" last February with this little cookie bouquet that I made for my uber talented, paper crafter buddy, Karolyn. Please take the time to check out her blog, she makes the most amazing cards, EVER! Anyhoo, this is what started it all:
Not bad for my first time, huh? I was completely hooked after making this one little cookie bouquet...couldn't make cookies fast enough or for enough reasons. Let's be honest, I made them when I didn't even have a reason! Bless my hubby for not complaining when he came home night after night with every flat surface covered with cookies. Of course that still happens but, he did buy me a new shelf for Christmas (what a guy, right?!) that we easily transformed into a "rolling" shelf. Perfect for cooling pans on or holding decorated cookies that are drying.
Ain't she a beauty? Of course my daughter Melissa, thinks I need TWO of these. At the very least I will probably be adding some more shelves to this one. Love it...after almost 35 years of marriage, my hubby knows the way to my heart!
So clearly I have gotten off topic. These are the cookies I did the other day:
I plan on making up some clear-lid gift boxes with assorted cookies...perfect for the "sweetie" in your life...ooh la la! Be sure and check back!
Happy Baking!

There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies!

I can't believe those were your first! You just started with talent didn't you :) Isn't it funny... when we were 20 we wanted jewlery and flowers, now we get excited about shelving.. I am right there with you girl...I would rather have thread, buttons, scissors, fabric etc.
Were those REALLY your first cookies? That bouquet is AMAZING. Wow. Its so nicely put together as well. I can't wait to see more of your Valentine cookies.
Oh, have you thought about adding a little shredded paper (colored or white) to the bottom of your clear gift boxes? You have such a great contrast in your cookies, it would really make them pop!
Those are so cute - especially the "undies"!
