Okay...now go back a couple of weeks when I told you that I found a super cute Halloween decoration at a local boutique called, Designer Blvd. I wish I would have snapped a picture with my phone, but I did not even think about it at the time. Anyhoo, it was basically blocks of wood that spelled out "Halloween"...the price tag, $70. WHAT?! Well, you know me (or maybe you don't), my first thought after experiencing sticker shock was, "that would be super simple to make!". Since I didn't even have to take a picture of the item I was going to be
Whatcha' think...pretty cute, huh? (Sorry about the quality of that second picture, don't know what was going on there). Trust me when I say, these pieces of wood have a very "primitive" look...they are not perfectly straight, but I thought that added to the character (yep, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!)
When I tell you what this cost to make, you will probably fall off your chair (keep in mind that $70 price tag!). The wood was less than $3, for a piece that I was able to cut 17 blocks of wood. I already had all of the paper from my scrapbooking/card making days, but we all know how cheap that is! Paint was about $3 and I already had the Perfect Paper Adhesive (you could use Mod Podge or any white glue for that matter!) So, whatcha' think now...even better, huh?
Since I want to share my love for Halloween, I am going to give away one Halloween themed, block word (the word of your choice!) to one lucky winner! You can enter by doing either one or both of the following:
1. Become a Follower
2. Leave me a comment telling me what Halloween "word" you would choose (don't worry, I won't hold you to it, you can always change your mind later!)
Good luck!

I think I'd pick Spooky but I also like Boo, Hiss, Eeek!
Too cute!!! I am already a follower and I would probably pick spooky.
Your blocks turned out super! I would really like to have a Silhouette but then I think I would overdo it -- vinyl all over the home. Thanks for the opportunity to win some of your word blocks -- I think homecrafted items are the best. If I won, I would pick "Halloween." Joni
Both of these block sets are freakin' adorable (get it? freakin?! Hahaha - I'm so clever! LOL) And hellooooo . . . I'm so proud of you for saving all that money on them - what shall we spend the $63 dollars on that you saved?! LOL Nice work, chica!!
#1 - I'm a GFC follower (Gia_Pet)

Spooky or Boo! and I am already a follower.
I'm a follower from way back! ; )
I LOVE decorating for Halloween, and these blocks are delightfully spooooky.
If I'm the lucky winner, I would love to have "black cat". Or, if I need to go with one word, I love your "Halloween" ones.
I think I would choose frightful!! or scary...I love everything about halloween!!!!
Trick or treat would be my choice. Wouldn't it be cute with the word "or" in a pumpkin shape instead of being a separate word?
I'm a follower!!
I would choose "halloween" too cute!!
These are Fabulous Terri! I would love "Halloween" or "Trick-or-Treat"? I love these so much I am going to pin you for my "Halloween" Board on Pinterest.
I'm a follower!
I love the "wicked!"
Became a follower!
Sooo many Halloween-y words! I would probably go with simply 'Halloween' or perhaps 'Pumpkin' for a word that can last a bit longer through the season!
I am now a follower!
I would go with "pumpkin" or "Halloween". VERY cute!
Love your blog and am a follower. Would love to have the word "halloween"....crossing my fingers :)
which silhouette font did you use for your halloween letters?
Ter, this is Barb's sister-in-law, We really enjoyed your cookies at the anniversary party. She has been tutoring me on cookie decorating. On another topic, I LOVE your studio. We just remodeled and finished ours, but not nearly as large or gorgeous as yours. Well done! Janet Butcher
They are both awesome though my favorite is the Wicked
