I will take you back a few months when I posted this Thomasville dresser that I found at the Salvation Army...it was half off day so the price was $65. This is what it looked like then:
I fell in love instantly and knew that it would make a perfect TV/Media Stand for Kelli's new house. This thing is huge...about 5 feet long and it weighs a ton! They really knew how to build things back in the day. Dovetail drawers and built solid.
Here is what it looks like now:
Now you can see why we lovingly call it the "Big Yellow Beast"! Doesn't it look awesome against her darker gray accent wall (her other walls in the living room are a lighter gray, as seen here behind her "new" chair). BTW, how do you like my photo staging...keep in mind she has not moved in yet and her TV is still sitting in my garage!
The color is Valspar's "Soft Duckling", which is one shade darker than her Chevron Wall. We used the original hardware and repainted it with Rustoleum's Hammered Gray. I used MDF for the shelves and added trim to finish it off. The one mistake that I did make was drilling the holes in the back for cords...I should have made them smaller and lowered them...who knew that DVD players are now only about an inch thick. Oh well, live and learn!
When you open the middle cupboard, this is what you see:
Just for fun, I made a vinyl stencil with my Silhouette and using the lighter yellow paint, added the numbers on the drawers. A better view:
I think I can say this is my favorite re-do to date. It makes me smile every time I look at it...of course that could be the bright, cheery color!
Let's take one more look at the before and after:
Whatcha' think...does it put a smile on your face too?!
Granite counter tops were put in today...appliances come on Saturday...things are finally coming together. I have one more creation to share in the next few days...be sure to stop back by!
Till then...

Whoa!! You are a transformation genius, girlie!! It's AWE-SOME!! I love the yellow, especially with the gray - in fact it's one of my most fave color combos. Absolutely brilliant, dude - Kelli must be thrilled!!
As usual...You rock mom!!! It is beautiful!!

Beautiful, what a cheery colour :) And what a steal for such a great piece of furniture.
So fun and it is a perfect cheery color (I have a very difficult time working with yellow so I'm impressed that this doesn't feel neon). Very smart to simply remove those top drawers and drill cable holes in the back to make it really function as a media cabinet.

What can I say.....BEAUTIFUL!
This turned out really great! I love your color choice. I actually just bought an old dresser that I want to turn into a TV stand. What exactly did you do to turn the drawers into cubbies?
that is FABULOUS! love the color, shape, hardware, numbered drawers.... fantastic makeover!
Looks so great, loving the yellow! You know, I didn't notice the holes until you mentioned them. The numbers are such a cute hidden surprise.
Just saw your feature over at Primitive & Proper. Cassie is right, you have done an amazing job. I just love the yellow!!
It looks so great! What a good thrift store find!
What a beautiful transformation! I love the idea of taking a dresser and turning it into a media table! Lovely!
What is the height of the dresser?
it is the perfect yellow! I love love it. I think I want to do my entry table in this color...can you share what paint you used?
If you will be about to offer several different seems to be towards TV stand than you can decide to provide a metallic or perhaps your timber feel in your cabinet unit.

It's not quite as simple as mounting a flat screen on the living room wall; you'll need to factor in a few special considerations. Here's what to keep in mind.
