Take a look at me now!

Well, not ME per se (you will rarely see my mug on this blog), but my cute little footboard! Remember the picture from the other day?

Do you see what I see?  No?  I would have thought this would have been an easy one!  Anyhoo, this is what it looks like now:

Of course it won't be for just Christmas decorations...after the first of the year, I plan to hang family photos from the hooks!  Keep in mind that this is quite good size, but actually not big enough for me!  My ceilings are 10 foot tall and this is a large wall so I really need something to go with...which I don't have yet, therefore you cannot see a panned out view on the wall.  This actually hangs on the wall above my dining room table.  Just to give you a better idea...those wreaths are 18 inches each!

This was super simple!  I painted the footboard with ASCP, "Old White".  This is what the hooks looked like originally (btw, they were $3.00 each before the 50% off at HL, so only $4.50 for all three...loves me some HL!):

The color was okay as was, but it was a little bolder than I wanted to I painted them with ASCP, Coco".  I attached them on the footboard with screws and gave the whole piece a waxing with, what else, AS Clear Wax!  Last but not least, I attached hooks on the back to hang it up!  Seriously people, does it get any easier than this?!  I have to say...I love how it turned out!

If you are wondering about the wreaths...I got this idea from the ones done by Shanty2Chic.  This is what their arrangement looked like:

Obviously I opted to go with the regular type of wreath rather than the grapevine.  I bought them from Michaels for about $4 each.  I actually already had the "J" and the "Y" from a project that went south last year, so I ran to JoAnns to pick up the "O".  Gave them a quick spray with silver and with Mod Podge and glitter, gave them some bling!!  Made some bows, glued everything on the wreaths and VOILA!

Typically, my Christmas decorations do start going up till the day after Thanksgiving, but I couldn't resist!

One more peek:

Whatcha' think?  Not bad for my original investment of $3, right?

Now, for another little teaser...check back and see what I do with this twin headboard that I picked up at a recent estate sale.

I will even give you a hint...similar to the first, but think RED!

Till next time!
