The "problem"

Well, two of you guessed correctly...the pillows were certainly going to cover the headboard. Case in point:

Am I bummed...most definitely, am I discouraged...yeah, a little...am I defeated...not quite yet!  Hubby and I think we have a solution figured out, but because I think it would be rude to kick his guest out of the room while I tackle the problem, it is going to have to wait till next week to get fixed!

While I am at it, I will address the other "guesses" that were made about my problem!

Looking at the picture, I can see where the color may seem "gray"...it is actually Annie Sloan Coco and the detailing is Old White.  I, personally, love the two tone look and when I show you the dressers, it will probably make more sense.  Are you going to like it?  Well, we'll just have to wait and see.

As far as the headboard being too busy against the stenciled wall, I don't think so (but I have to admit, you made me think twice, lol!).  I painted the wall a "tone on tone" for just that reason...so that this headboard would look good on it.  But hey, different strokes for different folks...if we all loved the same things, life would be pretty boring!  I respect everyone's opinion, and just the fact that you commented on my little ol' blog, makes me happy!

Should have lots of Valentine's Day Cookies to share as well!
Till then...

I think it is still great, the pillows make it perfect in my eyes, but I have no decorating style at all, so that kind of really makes me a bad judge.

Yup, it needs to raised. I would say about 8 inches would look fantastic. I love your choices for this room.

You put all that work into such a beautiful headboard just to hide it with pillows??? Ha ha ha ha... sounds like something I would do. It's too pretty to cover up. Hope you come up with a solution. The walls... ARE BEAUTIFUL! I'm sure labor intensive but well worth it.

I still think it looks great. I really love that wall. Can't wait to see what you're able to do with it and the dressers.
