A Fireman's Retirement

I recently received a cookie order for a fireman's retirement, this was a first for me and I couldn't wait to play. Terri (yep, that was her name, she even even spells it like me!) asked for fire engines, hats and fire hydrants to celebrate her husband's big day...what a fun way to celebrate one of our "finest". I have always thought of fire hydrants as being red, by in my town they are all yellow, top to bottom. I think it was a great compliment the red hats and trucks that she requested. The order was for seven dozen, which fit perfectly on three large black trays.

Just for fun I made a few square cookies with the extra dough and tried out my new edible ink printer (well, actually the printer isn't edible, just the paper and ink, lol). I went on the Internet and found a Maltese Cross image, saved it to my computer, "copy and pasted" into Word and printed them out. Now I have to admit, I have seen this image hundreds of times, but did not know that this is what it is called. Anyhoo, it was a lot of fun to play with and now that I have my first ones under my belt, I can't wait for an excuse to make more! Just think of the possibilities, photos, logos, just about anything you can find on the computer!

It was an honor making these...thank you for letting me play a very small part in your husband's very BIG day!

There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies!
