For those that just might have missed me, I am back from our semi-annual trip to Las Vegas (for the last five years or so, my hubby and I have spent our birthdays there...works out perfect, May and November). I am not so happy to report that I did not bring a lot of their money back, but I brought a good share of my own, so that is always a good thing in my book.
Needless to say, since I have been out of town, there has not been a lot of cookie baking in my house! I wanted to share something so I went through my cookie "archive" pictures and found my first and only attempt at "Embroidery Cookies". I don't think I have shared them before, but if I have, consider it my old age and call it a "flash back".
These are usually done using Royal Icing, but I tried it with buttercream and it worked quite well. I think the thickness of RI, might be better, but as I have explained before, RI and I don't get along. Anyhoo, this is what they look like:
Kinda cute, huh? I have seen them done in black, red and white and they are gorgeous. I keep telling myself that I am going to make them again, but never think about it!
Happy Baking!
There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies!
