A reminder and a little ABC Project!

CONTEST ENTRY HAS ENDED...WINNER TO BE ANNOUNCED ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 25TH. Thanks to all who played along!

Don't forget you still have TWO days left to enter the CSN Store Giveaway!! All details can be found here!

As I have said before, I consider myself a "Jack of all trades, and a Master at none!"...this includes, but is not limited to, SEWING! Seeing patterns like this:

brings a smile to my face! Sewing for Dummies, yep that's me! Now, I did make these valances last weekend, but we will save that for another day of ABC Projects (anything BUT cookies)! The costumes were not a "Sewing for Dummies" pattern, but I was able to figure them out!

Today I am going to share the Halloween Costumes that I made for Taylor and Thomas. Two of my biggest fears in sewing are ZIPPERS AND BUTTON HOLES...thankfully neither of these costumes called for either one! Although I would love to say that it was my expertise craftsmanship that made these costumes so cute, that is really not the case. It was the fabric...as soon as I saw that distressed leather looking fabric, I knew it was going to be perfect for my Wench and Pirate Costumes. Seriously, how cool is this stuff? Doesn't it look like real leather?!

This is Taylor's Wench costume...the striped fabric is a scarf that will be tied around her head and she has the cutest little black suede boots to complete the outfit!

And here is Thomas' Pirate Costume...he has knee high boots (shhhh, he does not know they are actually girl's boots).

We have been working on our "Arrrrghhhhh's" and "Ahoy Matey's" for weeks! Not too tough for Thomas who is almost 5...a little more challenging for Taylor who is only 2 1/2!

Here are the patterns that I used:

These are so very cute! I like all of the overlapped fabric on the wench costume. You did a fabulous job. I don't think you need a pattern for "Dummies" :).
