A few Cookies

What is more fun than something Baby, something Bridal, and even something Boxer...love it!

I made these little Baby Girl Mini's for a friend of Kelli's that recently had her baby, Georgia.  I love little "mini" cookies, but I do not love making little "mini" cookies.  To me, they are almost as much work as the big cookies...but sometimes for the sake of "cuteness", you have to sacrifice!

Case in point:

Pretty cute as is, but let's kick it up a notch!

Super cute, right?  And the perfect little "Welcome Baby" gift.  I picked these baby bottle banks up at, of all places, the Dollar Tree (loves me some dollar store).  It held about 2 dozen cookies!

Next, I was asked to make a Bridal Shower gift box.  I love doing bride cookies!  This is what I came up with:

I used the Airbrush and Lace technique for the bra, panties (white on white, so it is very subtle), garter and corset.  Can you tell I love this technique...so simple, yet has a lot of "wow" factor.  I also airbrushed a chevron background done white on white, on the two cookies below.

All boxed up:

I'm sure you are not surprised to know that I forgot to take a "final" picture, but it was all tied together with a pretty blue satin ribbon!

And last, but not least...I will share a little Boxer love!

I was asked to donate some cookies for a fund raiser event to benefit Boxer Luv Rescue...a charity that is dear to my heart!  You might remember that I have donated cookies for this event in the past...this year I decided to do something a little different.  Since it is a "biker" event, I decided to incorporate the two.  This is what I came up with:

And all packaged up and ready to sell:

So there you have it...my last week's work!

Nothing on the books for this next week, so I may have to play around a little...maybe even out in the garage, who knows!

Till then...

Twice the fun!

These are some cookies that I made for my niece and her sister-in-law's joint baby shower.  Obviously, one is having a girl and one is having a boy (my niece, Jessica, is having the girl).

What says baby girl better than little pink dresses and matching Mary Jane's?

And for little boys...how about some onsies and matching Converse?

Can you guess what cutter I used for the shoes?  Yep, my candy corn cutter!

Now about those guesses for yesterday's little teaser.  I can tell you it is NOT a:

Santa
Hedgehog
Turkey
Garden Gnome
Frankenstein
Bear
or a  Kneeling Angel or Fairy

Please keep the guesses coming...I think this might have been harder than I thought!

Till next time!

Pretty in Pink!

I love it when someone orders cookies that are just slightly "outside the box"...that was the case for Shelly's baby shower.  What better way to represent pink than with some fun flamingos?!  Besides the flamingos she wanted onsies...she left the design of the third cookie up to me.

I thought it would be fun to tie all the things together by using umbrella's...and needs umbrellas if you don't have raindrops.  This is what I came up with:

Whatcha' think...fun, huh?!  Thanks so much Shelly!

The temps are finally coming down to double digits...that means it is almost bearable to work in the garage.  I have a few projects to finish up before I can move on to the next!

Till then...

What girl doesn't dream...

...of getting a special gift wrapped inside a Tiffany Box?

Well, this little girl probably doesn't even know what a Tiffany Box is quite yet, but just give her a few years.  What a fun theme for a one year old's birthday, don't ya think?!

Lola turned one and what a party it turned out to be!  I have only seen a few Instagram pictures, but it looked A-MA-ZING!  I guess it helps that your Mommy is a party planner!  Sassy Soirees is the name of her business, check it out if you do Facebook or Instagram!

Shannon wanted Tiffany boxes, Gold Diamond Rings and some monogram cookies...this is what I came up with:

The monogram cookies were inspired by SSB.  I made  RI transfers and just applied them to the wet icing.  The flowers were also premade and dropped on as well.

And because every little one year old girl deserves her own special cookie:

Thanks Shannon...for letting me play a small roll in Lola's BIG day!

Till next time...Happy Baking!

A few cookies...

...that I have done in the past week!

After making the Cardinals cookies, I decided we needed something that appealed more to our feminine side.  Nothing says "girly" like some cute little dresses.  I recently purchased a new strapless dress cutter from Ecrandal.  It is my second dress cutter that I have purchased from them and to get more "bang for my buck", I buy the longest version of the dress and just cut it down for shorter ones!  Here is what I came up with:

The one in the middle bottom and top left, are actually a cutter that has sleeves, but who needs sleeves for the summer?  It was easy enough to just cut them off!

Recently, Melanie ordered cookies for the Emergency Hospital that saved one of her dog's lives.  What better way to say "thank you"?!  Cookies of course:

Thanks Melanie!

And last but not least...a few more cookies to celebrate the upcoming football season (see, I told you I love this time of year!)

Till next time...Happy Baking!

It must be the season...

...for babies!  I have had a couple of baby showers to do cookies for in the last couple of weeks!

The first set was for Shaunna...the theme was lace, pearls and gold.  Hmmmmm, not your ordinary baby shower theme, so I had to do a little brainstorming!  She wanted baby bottles, rattles and baby faces.  This is what I came up with:

I used a lace technique that I first saw here.    Pardon the glare...it is sort of hard to see it one the rattles, but I love how they turned out!  I incorporated the "pearl" just using Pearl Luster Dust on the bottles and handles of the rattles.  Little baby faces are pretty self explanatory!  Each cookie was bagged and tied with a light pink ribbon...which of course I forgot to take a picture of!

This past weekend, I did a little boy baby shower for Darlene.  She was going with a nautical theme and decided on whales, sailboats and anchors.  The anchors are royal icing transfers that I made using clip art off of the internet.  These are some of my own personal faves...and oh so fun to do!

Since they were giving them out as "thank you's", she printed up some tags for me to attach when bagging.  How cute do they look all bagged up?!

Love them all!  Thanks girls, for letting me play a small part in your baby showers!

Till next time...

How about some cookies...

...since that was what my blog was originally started for!  I have had some fun orders recently...and a bunch coming up in May, that I can't wait to share with you!

I did a golf gift box for Angela's dad..I love doing the little greens/fairways...so fun!.

Kelli was lucky enough to make a recent trip to London and Paris, she wanted cookies to give to her "team" at work to thank them for helping her out while she was gone.  What says thank you better than "Merci" and the Eiffel Tower?!

One of Kelli's besties, Meredith, recently became a certified nail technician, so we thought cookies were in order for her as well.  I apologize for the glare of the packaging...I forgot to take the pic before putting them in the bags.

Ever heard of Goldilicious?  Well, I had not until I was notified by Corie that she wanted cookies for her daughter's birthday.  Apparently Goldilicious has a unicorn sidekick, no name to my knowledge, so this is what I came up with:

It has been a busy "cookie" time and as I said...I have lots more coming up this month.

I do have to share a little sneak peek of what's to come.  My niece called last weekend to see if I would be interested in an outdoor bench that she was giving to the Goodwill.  All I needed to know was if it was sturdy, I would take care of the rest!  I mean, who passes up something that is "free.99"...not me.  This is what I have to work with:

It is somewhat of a hot mess, but it is one heavy bench and will be well worth my efforts to make it beautiful again!  I probably don't even need to tell you that it is already torn apart.  I was dying to get at this one...I have some really cute ideas for it...stay tuned!

Till next time...

A few cookies to share!

First and foremost...a big "thank you" to all that commented on my recent comments dilemma!  I have to say that blocking "anonymous" comments from being posted has significantly cleared up my blog postings as well as my "Spam" box!  Hopefully this is the end of that issue!

Now let's see some cookies!

Last week I had an order for Baby Shower cookies...but this was not your ordinary Baby Shower order.  I love it when people go outside the box.  I did do cute little pink dresses, but the other two requested designs were not what you would typically see someone request for this occasion.

Here are the cute little dresses:

How cute are they?  Believe it or not, those dresses were made using a double bell cookie cutter...who knew, right?!  Well, certainly not me...but I did find this tutorial at the perfect time because I do not have a little dress cutter and this work perfectly!  Thank you Samantha for sharing this...I love how they turned out!

They also wanted a cookie with a flower on it (btw, colors were pink, ivory and gold), so I chose to make Brush Embroidery cookies:

It is hard to tell from the photo, but I used gold Petal Dust and they have a beautiful shimmer to them.

And because I forgot to take a pic of the "Quilted" cookies, you only get to see them on the completed platter:

I have also been working on a few Easter cookies!  Another tutorial that I found by Marilyn showed how to make this cute centerpiece.  This girl can rock the video tutorials and she is amazingly talented...I highly recommend checking out her blog!

I had to build my own box because I could not find anything pre-made that was the right size.  Even this one could have been a little bigger.  I bought the cheapest wood possible, cut it, put it together and stained it.  Because I did not want the box to be strictly for Easter, but wanted something written on it, I went this direction:

I did not even bother using vinyl to make this stencil...just good ol' cardstock!

I purchased this grass from Hobby Lobby and cut it to fit my box:

This is my version:

Whatcha' think?  Can you see this as your table centerpiece?  It was a little early to make Easter cookies, but I wanted to show something on my blog so I went ahead and made them up.  I have since "dismantled" the centerpiece for now, and after carefully wrapping up the cookies...threw them in the freezer to be used in another week and a half!  Easy Peasy!

Thanks again to Marilyn and Samantha for sharing their amazing tutorials...ya gotta LOVE the internet!!

Stay tuned for some more super cute Easter cookies!  Till then...Happy Baking!

Alice in Wonderland...

...cookies.  It has happened to all of us, right?  You are taking pictures and at some point you realize that you forgot to stick the memory card in...humor me here people, and just say yes!  Well, it happens to me more times than I like to admit, but since I always look to see what I just took a picture of, I usually see the "No Card" right away.  Apparently this time, I did not.  However, in my own defense, I think my camera may need a little tlc, because there are many times when I have to reinsert the card several times for it to recognize that it is indeed in there!

Anyhoo, whatever the problem, I have no good pictures of my Alice In Wonderland cookies.  Thankfully, I took this one to post on Instagram, or I would not even have that.  These were ordered for a little girl named Isla, who was turning 1.  These were the designs her Mom picked:

There were 3 dozen in all.  I hope Isla had a great first birthday!

To most of you, summer is still in full swing...but here in AZ, some schools have already started back (like Thomas) and for those that haven't, they will be in the next week or so.  Taylor spent the night with us last Friday, so her and Papa shared a little pool time on Saturday.  She has become quite the fish over the last few months!  (Sorry, wasn't thinking I should turn my phone when taping this!)

Not bad for a 4 year old!  The next Missy Franklin?  I think just maybe!

Til next time!

It's all about the girls!

I LOVE doing girly orders...they are so much fun. Cassie decided she wanted hot pink nail polish and lipsticks for her daughter's birthday. Each package held one of each!

Whatch'a think...kind of fun, huh!

Thanks for letting me play, Cassie!

Check back for more cookies and sadly, a transformation "fail"!  Till then...happy baking!

Are you "Pinterested"?

If you are asking yourself if I made a typo in my title, you are definitely, NOT Pinterested.  I was introduced to Pinterest about 6 months ago by my good buddy, Karolyn...and I will be honest, I just did not "get it" so after signing up and checking it out once, I never went back.  Now fast forward to about 2 weeks ago, when I was "reintroduced" by my daughters...they talked me into giving it another try...and I have been obsessed ever since!  I even opened a "Twitter" account (although you can join with Facebook, as well.  I don't even know how to explain it, except to tell you that if you decide to give it a go...you will probably spend every "spare" (and I use that term loosely) waking moment on Pinterest.  In a nutshell, it is an "idea board"...everything from soup to nuts, literally!  You create "boards" of your own personal interests and collect them via the internet...brilliance at it's best.

Okay, so where am I going with this?  This past Monday night was the The Bachlorette finale (thank God...I think this is the dumbest show, ever!)  Anyhoo, it was my house guest's (a.k.a., my daughter) night to host dinner for her friends that watch the show together.  She made the Chop Chop Salad (to die for) and I helped her out by making the bread and dessert...enter Pinterest.  On my "Sounds Delish" board, I have been accumulating different food items that I want to try.  That is where I found this:

It is called Cheddar Bacon Ranch Pulls or as the creator likes to refer to it "Crack Bread"...I am sure that is because it is somewhat addicting!  Also, I can see from her picture (I forgot to take a pic of mine before we inhaled it) that I could have added MORE cheese and bacon.  Anyhoo, I think all that ate it would give it a big thumbs up!

Then, for dessert we had Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries or what I would like to rename "Little Bites of Heaven".  They were simple, yet just hit the spot !  I had to revise the recipe somewhat because it called for Graham Cracker crumbs and the ones that I had were not any good so I improvised and used crushed, un-iced sugar cookies instead...worked great in a pinch!  What do you think?  Look good enough to eat?

So long story short...if you haven't Pinterested...you must give it a try!  I hope the girls enjoyed their dinner!

Last but not least, a few cookies that I made the other day.  It was one of Kelli's bff's daughter's (wow, that was a mouthful) 1st birthday and she wanted me to make a few cookies to stick in the gift box.  Hmmmm, what to make?!  You can't really go wrong with Hello Kitty, now right?

Hope Gracie had a great 1st birthday!

I have baby cookies to make by Friday and I hope to have my table project done so that I can share it as well.  Till then...Happy Baking!

Wow, my life is pretty boring!

As I mentioned a while back, it is just too dang hot around here to paint...which really cramps my style because I like to have multiple projects going so I don't get burned out on just one.  I did make Lucy's cookies (giveaway winner) but I don't want to post those until after she receives them.  Today I am working on a dozen surf boards that Andrea ordered and since I had a little extra dough...I made these for my manicurist:

Poor thing...she looks at my hands and says "You painting again?"...the stain under my nails is usually a dead giveaway.  Of course sometimes it's not paint at all, but food coloring, lol!  Anyhoo, I thought she deserved some cookies for her hard work!

I did purchase a new apron pattern from ETSY...it is a darling reversible style.  So cute for little girls...I will be posting one of those soon.

Till then...Happy Baking!!
