STOP...the...MADNESS!

First things first, don't forget about my little giveaway going on...you can get the details here!  You still have time to enter!  Okay, carry on...

So, we have already established that I love buying other people's junk trash gently used items, to turn into my own treasures. We also know that this past weekend I discovered Estate Sales...well yesterday, Melissa and I went to three more! I didn't buy anything at the first, which was actually the largest sale of the three.  Melissa bought a table clock for $2 (btw, this sale was much more reasonably price than the first sale I went to).

We then headed to the second house, where I purchased this little beauty for $30:

Quick...do you know what it is? Ummm, hello...it's a drill press and I am pretty sure every girl needs one! $30, are you kidding me, that's a smokin' deal. I have no idea when I am going to use it yet, but I knew that I had to have it! I also bought another little tool for $2...it's a vice, grip thingy...I don't know the technical name!

Third sale was a bust...although I would have loved to have taken that little golf cart home to drive my grand kids around the neighborhood in!

We had about 1/2 hour to spare before Melissa had to be home to take Thomas to school (yes, we did all this and it was still only 10:00 a.m.) and lucky for us, the Salvation Army was right down the street. Walk in the door to see a sign "30% off everything"...seriously, could my day get any better. Actually it could! They had A LOT of stuff yesterday...they usually have some kind of sale everyday so they tend to turn things over quickly.

Anyhoo, we get to the back of the store and it was as if the sky's turned blue (well, they were already blue, but whatever) and the angels began to sing...there before my eyes were these two beauties:

So before you are too quick to critique, let me just say that I have been wanting to try my hand at a little reupholstering for a long time. Nothing too difficult, though. So, I hemmed and hawed for a few minutes and thought, what the heck, for $21 (sale price) I would pick one up and give it a try! I get up to the register and the guy says, "you know these are 2 for this price, right?" Yep, more singing...what a score! AGAIN...two chairs, in perfect shape for $21. Life is good!

Can you not see these beauties, repainted and dressed in some pretty, new, fun fabric...totally retro! BTW, my hubby does not know that I bought these yet...they are sitting in my spare bedroom and I am hoping he won't even notice them!

Before I go, I want to wish all my visitors a Happy Easter! Monday...Cinco de Mayo cookies, I promise!

Till then...happy baking!

There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies!

I AM going to start calling you Terri the Toolmom if you don't stop buying all those funny tools, though. So glad you and Melissa had a good day. Any chance you can do lunch this week . . .I want to celebrate your birthday before I leave town . . . in 9 days. Ugh!
