Fall-ing...and another Halloween goodie to share!!

Yep, it's just around the corner...temperatures dropped into double digits for 3-4 days, so we know that fall can't be far off (sadly, it is supposed to be above 100 for the next few days, however!).  That means it's time to put away the summer cookie cutters for a while and start making fall cookies.  I did two different versions...my original designs, done by just "swirling" the colors while the base coat is wet and Sugarbelle's technique, where you let your base coat dry and then spray with Wilton's Color Mist Food Spray.  I liked both, however I will say, that the spray is super fast AND easy!  What do you think?

Sprayed:

Swirled:

Whatcha' think?  It's okay to pick a favorite...it won't bother me if you like the first one better!  I think Sugarbelle is definitely onto something because they sure are faster to make!

Now for a little Halloween!  Months ago I bought this mirror at Savor's.  I did not have any real plan in mind, but I thought for sure I would remove the mirror itself and do something with the frame only.  Sadly, I don't have a "before" picture of the front of the mirror, but this picture of the back should tell you something:

It is somewhat nasty looking, and although you can't see it, the price says $6.99.  I am thinking it was probably some type of "deal" day and I actually paid less, but regardless, I must have thought it was a good enough price.  It's been tucked in a back closet ever since.  The other day it hit me...I knew exactly what I was going to do with it!  You know that I LOVE all things Halloween, so I decided to paint it black and create a "ghoulish" display above my fireplace!  This is what it looks like now:

It's hard to tell from the picture, but I first painted it black and then used some silver "Rub and Buff" over the top...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.

The mirror is really too small for the space that I have to work with, so I am on the lookout for some gaudy great sconces to go on each side.  Whatcha' think?  Are you as excited as me?  Probably not, but that's okay too...you are going to love it when I am done!

That's it for me folks, till the next time....Happy Baking!

There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies!

It's starting to turn fall here, too. We're still getting a bit of sunshine here and there, but that typical marine air haze is there every morning now. I'd love to feel some 100 degree days again, though. Hopefully soon! Love the "sprayed" cookies the best, although the swirled ones are super fun, too. The sprayed ones look like you airbrushed them - so pretty!! And I can't wait to see what you do with that mirror. I already love the paint and silver technique that you've done - soooo cool!! I can totally see some cool sconces, maybe a skull (cut with your new Silhouette) and some spiders and spider webs? Am I close?! So funnn!!!

LOL to fall = double digit temps!!! Where I am it is in the 40s :>
I like both versions of your cookies, but if I had to choose I would go with the spray ones - especially if it is easier for you!

The cookies are adorable! I actually like both looks. The mirror is great and can totally see your vision. Cant wait to see the finished product.
