A curbside rescue...

...well, sort of anyway!

Sadly, foreclosure homes are a dime a dozen here in Arizona.  My nephew and his friend's business is to go into homes that have been vacated and clean them up for the banks.  They have the less than glorified job of removing all that is left behind by the previous owners.  They are free to do with it what they want.  I think most of it is only "dump worthy", but if it has any potential at all, they collect it for a while and then have a garage sale to earn a little extra cash.

I was out of town when they had the last one.  Apparently there was a $5 price tag on this little jewel and it didn't sell...can you believe it?  (It's the tall skinny piece...the dresser is Kelli's (slash "my") future project".

Apparently some lady looked at it but because it was missing the door, she passed.  Seriously, lady?!  It was $5...with the door still attached it would have been at LEAST $10.  No worries...her loss is my gain!

My sister and niece thought it had potential and worth me taking a look.  I have to say, while making the trip over to her house I wasn't feeling very optimistic.  I mean if some lady passed on it for $5, how cool could it be?!  (Pretty cool if you ask the elk and the deer!)  I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised...it DID have potential.  Can you see it?

I am happy to say that the old hardware has been removed and she has a nice coat of primer.  I think I have even solved the missing door issue.  Can you hardly wait to see it all done?!

I'm off...I have 4 dozen baby shower cookies to decorate!

Till next time...Happy Baking (or Re-Making)!

There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me that's screaming to get out...I can usually shut her up with cookies!

I cannot WAIT to see what you do with it. I know I with think it's fabulous, as all your projects are!!

I just don't have the gift that you do of seeing what it can become.

I look at it, with those handles, and all I can think is Henry VIII's toilet. I mean, there's no hole there, but I just can't get passed those handles. LOL

I would TOTALLY be the dumbass lady that passes on it for $5, but hopefully, I'd have you along with me to tell me what a treasure this is. It's a beaut - and I can't wait to see what you've done with it - ya big teaser!! LOL Nearly peed my pants when I saw the word bubbles on the Elk and the Deer. Apparently that's where Ron has to keep his dead animals?! LOL Too funny. Hurry up and show us the end result - I can't wait!!
